"In my twenty years of construction and remodeling I have been led to believe there is a better way to remove materials while remodeling a home or business. In the removal of flooring such as hardwood, tiles, underlayment, sub flooring and also the decking of roofs and outside structures, multiple tools and awkward movements are required to complete basic tasks. As an example in stripping the roof of a building down to trusses, with traditional tools, several cuts are required in order to take advantage of the trusses for prying points. With the Shovel Dawg™ and a long handled shovel, you will only need one cut on each plane of the roof. Because the Shovel Dawg™ has a wheel base that will overlap the trusses and has a raised 5in. fulcrum. The whole 4X8 sheet of decking can be removed without first having to remove the shingles and the amazing fact is that 1/3 of the usual physical effort is required.

The Shovel Dawg™ is intended to be used in conjunction with a long handled shovel. The purpose of the Shovel Dawg™ is to use simple engineering principles to obtain the maximum amount of leverage, without an excessive amount of physical force. There is no other tool that allows the user to do such work at an efficient rate of time, without the physical wear and tear on a body.

The Shovel Dawg™ slides over the shovel handle and is then tightened by two thumb screws at the main handle. This covers the area where the spade and handle come together, adding strength to the shovel. Then the Shovel Dawg™ has a built in fulcrum with a slide that goes over the pivot bar. The pivot bar comes in two spans: one for a 24in. center, and one for a 16 in center. The pivot bar has round end caps that help hold the Shovel Dawg™ in place over the spans, also the end caps work as wheels when taking up material such as flooring. This is the main reason why I think the Shovel Dawg™ is a very unique tool, because there is none other like it.
